Bridging the gap between farmers and DATs

T he last decade has seen an explosion of interest and investment in the use of digital technologies in agriculture (DATs) and food production. Despite the many predicted benefits of the use of data and digital technologies in agriculture, actual uptake and use by farmers in the EU has been slow and limited. The QuantiFarm project focusses on supporting the further deployment of DATs as key enablers for enhancing the sustainability performance and competitiveness of the agricultural sector. To achieve this goal, QuantiFarm aims to establish a reusable Assessment Framework for assessing the impact and effectiveness of DATs in agriculture and to develop innovative tools (QuantiFarm Toolkit), services (QuantiFarm DIA) and recommendations (Policy Monitoring Tool) for farmers, advisors and policy makers.
