A few words about EIT and EIT Food
The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) is one of its organizations EU, established with the aim of strengthening the capacity for innovation development in Europe. The EIT promotes innovation by connecting businesses with academic education and scientific research aimed at developing solutions that respond to urgent global environmental challenges. EIT Food is one of the 8 EIT Innovation Communities (Climate, Innovation Communities, Digital, Health, InnoEnergy, Manufacturing, RawMaterials, UrbanMobility) and focuses on innovation in the food sector. In Greece, EIT Food is represented by the organization Industry Disruptors – Game Changers and has as an educational partner the Agricultural University of Athens, which constitute the local EIT Food HUB.
Grigoris Chatzikostas, Vice President of Business Development, Foodscale Hub & coordinator of the two discussions noted that the event was an opportunity to realize that two important sectors in Northern Greece are digitized and how much they benefit from this event. It is important that at the event there was a lot of turnout of young people who saw how they can make use of new technologies and apply them to their work.
