Business Resilience and Risk Management for Farmers
The agricultural sector is one of the largest in Europe, employing 12 million farmers and covering nearly half of the EU’s land. However, farmers face constant risks and uncertainties that can impact their decisions and operations. Many struggle to fully understand and manage these challenges effectively.
The FaRMER project developed a Resilience Framework – Risk Management Methodology to help farmers assess and manage agricultural risks. This approach takes into account the unique challenges faced by farmers in rural and remote areas of the EU. The framework provides a clear, step-by-step process for implementing risk management strategies tailored to their needs.
As part of the project, a FaRMER Course was created, offering a training curriculum covering key topics like identifying threats, developing risk management strategies, and creating policies. To ensure accessibility, project results and training materials were integrated into the FaRMER Online Platform, making it easy for farmers and stakeholders to access resources anytime.
Our role in the project
Foodscale Hub developed the FaRMER Sustainability and Transferability Plan to ensure the platform remains accessible and useful after the project’s end.
