African Food Innovations: Partnering For A Sustainable Future
INCiTiS-FOOD is a four-year initiative dedicated to enhancing food and nutrition security (FNS) in African city regions while reducing the environmental footprint of food systems. By advancing circularity, the project co-develops innovative agri-food technologies, sustainable practices, and inclusive business models to build resilient urban food systems. Through EU-AU partnerships, INCiTiS-FOOD integrates hydroponics, aquaponics, and insect farming to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
The project empowers communities by opening up opportunities for them in agri-food supply and value chains, and by achieving environmental justice through transformative food policies achieved through interdisciplinary research, integrated best-fit technologies, stakeholder-led action, capacity-building, research-practitioner-policy collaborative engagement, and Europe-Africa partnership.
