Revolutionising Proteins with Sustainability and Taste
The alternative protein sector faces challenges like resource inefficiency, high costs, and meeting demands for nutritious and sustainable options. Conventional methods increase environmental impact, while scalability and technological barriers limit progress. Tackling these issues is vital for advancing affordable, eco-friendly protein solutions for a growing global population.
PLANTOMYC is a groundbreaking project aimed at transforming the alternative protein market by combining the benefits of plant-based proteins with the taste and texture advantages of mycelial protein biomass (MPB). The project will develop innovative, minimally processed hybrid meat alternatives that are both healthy and delicious. PLANTOMYC aims for a near-zero waste process, turning fermentation byproducts into functional products like GABA-enriched beverages and bouillon.
