Transforming Agriculture Through Long-Term Alliances in Higher Education

Widening countries, such as Greece and Serbia, continue to lag behind the European average in terms of Research & Innovation (R&I) investment and scientific excellence, with the domain of Digital Agriculture (DA) being a notable example. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in these regions have the potential to play a pivotal role in bridging this gap, but they require targeted support to excel in both research and education in the DA field.

This is where the TALLHEDA initiative comes into play. It represents a transformative effort to elevate agricultural HEIs in widening countries by addressing key societal challenges and making one step closer to reforming their institutions in terms of content and quality of educational courses, pedagogical and management practices, and research and innovation capacity, raising the critical mass of highly skilled scientists needed for digital transition in agriculture across Europe.
